Optical Transport Networks Training by TONEX provides a  comprehensive technical introduction to Optical Transport Networks

Optical Transport Networks are composed of a set of Optical Network Elements connected by optical fibre links  to provide functionality of transport, multiplexing, routing, management, supervision and survivability of optical channels carrying client signals.

Optical transport networks consist of the networking capabilities and the technology required to support them.

In accordance with [ITU-T G.805] and [ITU-T G.800], the OTN is decomposed into independent transport layer networks where each layer network can be separately partitioned in a way which reflects the internal structure of that layer network.

G.872, the Architecture of optical transport networks) defines the building blocks of an OTN as  Digital layer, OCh-layer and Media). The digital OTN layered structure is comprised of digital path layer networks (ODU) and digital section layer networks (OTU).

The OTN is provisions the transport for any digital signal independent of client-specific aspects, i.e. client independence.

Optical transport network (OTN) training course is designed for anyone  in need of a good understanding of the OTN and related technologies.
