Python programming is one of the most sought after skills in the technology sector – and no wonder considering Python is now the most widely used programming language in the world.

Admired for its simplicity while maintaining high efficiency, Python can be used to develop different applications like web applications, graphic user interface based applications, software development applications, scientific and numeric applications, network programming, Games and 3D applications and other business applications. It makes an interactive interface and easy development of applications.

Python’s users are numerous. For example, Intel, Cisco, Hewlett-Packard, Seagate, Qualcomm, and IBM use Python for hardware testing. JPMorgan Chase, UBS, Getco, and Citadel apply Python for financial market forecasting. NASA, Los Alamos, JPL, use Python for scientific programming tasks. iRobot uses Python to develop commercial robotic vacuum cleaners. The NSA uses Python for cryptography and intelligence analysis.

Also, Google makes extensive use of Python in its web search system. YouTube video sharing service is largely written in Python. Disney uses Python in many of its creative processes. Mozilla uses Python to explore its extensive code base and releases tons of open source packages built in python. Drop box file hosting service is implemented using Python. The popular Bit Torrent peer-to-peer file sharing system is a Python program as well.

If it appears Python is everywhere – well, yeah.

Python is also used because of its providing continuous support to programming paradigms. Python supports object-oriented programming as well as structured programming. Python’s programming paradigm versatility allows it to be used for both complex software applications and those less complex but ranging from small to large.

For beginning Python programmers, Python’s code readability is a godsend. Python code is easy to read and maintain – it also is easily reusable as well wherever it is required.

The simple syntax of Python allows for different concepts to develop without writing any additional code. Unlike more difficult programming languages, Python’s code readability helps in building custom applications and in maintaining and updating software applications without putting extra effort on the same code.
