Fundamentals of EMI/EMC
Fundamentals of EMI/EMC is a 2-day course that provides the fundamental concepts of electromagnetic compatibility/electromagnetic interference (EMC/EMI). EMC/EMI professionals, technicians, engineers and engineering managers will learn more about the electromagnetic environments applied to commercial and military systems. Participants will also learn about electromagnetic threats, high-power EM threats, nuclear electromagnetic pulse (EMP) and high -power microwave (HPM) weapons. EMI/EMC course will also include labs to demonstrate the fundamental EMI/EMC concepts.
Who Should Attend
Fundamentals of EMI/EMC course is designed for technicians, engineers, analysts, scientists, and engineering managers planning, designing, implementing, evaluating, simulating, testing, certifying, maintaining commercial or military electronic-system systems.
Learning Objectives
After completing the fundamentals of EMI/EMC course, the participants will be able to:
- Discuss the fundamentals of EMI and EMC
- Differentiate between military and commercial EMI/EMC requirements, test plans and standards
- Identify, prevent, and fix common EMI/EMC problems in commercial and military systems
- Plan and create EMC test plans
- Analyze EMC measurement, modeling, tools and analysis techniques
- Harden electronic systems using EMC protection technique(s)
- Analyze effects of nuclear electromagnetic pulse (EMP) and high -power microwave (HPM) weapons
