Day 2: Teamwork and Collaboration Workshop

Objective:
To enhance participants’ ability to work effectively in teams, improve communication, problem-solving, and collaboration skills through hands-on exercises and activities.
Duration:

1 Full Day (8 hours)

1. Introduction (30 minutes)

  • Welcome and Objectives: Overview of the workshop goals.
  • Icebreaker Activity:

Activity: Two Truths and a Lie
Purpose: To break the ice and start building team rapport.

2. Team Dynamics and Roles (1 hour)

  • Mini-Lecture: Understanding team roles (e.g., leader, communicator, implementer).

Activity: Belbin Team Roles Self-Assessment
Purpose: To identify participants’ preferred roles within a team.

3. Communication and Active Listening (1 hour 30 minutes)

Exercise:
Activity: Paired Listening Exercise
Instructions: One person speaks on a topic for 5 minutes while the other listens without interruption. Then, they switch roles.
Debrief: Discuss the importance of active listening and feedback.

Group Activity:
Activity: Blindfold Navigation
Instructions: In pairs, one participant is blindfolded and must navigate a course with the guidance of their partner’s verbal instructions.
