Industrial Engineering Workshop

The incorporation of artificial intelligence (AI) and robotics into control, perception, and machine-learning processes is necessary for the realization of fully autonomous intelligent systems.

The integration of two technologies, robotics and AI, are essential for innovation and useful applications.

That’s because AI and robotics share some key concepts, such as:

  • Perception
  • Cognition
  • Action
  • Learning

Perception is the ability to acquire and process information from the environment, such as images, sounds, or touch.

Cognition is the ability to reason, plan, and solve problems based on the perceived information while action is the ability to execute physical or virtual tasks, such as moving, grasping, or communicating.

Learning is the ability to improve performance based on feedback or experience.

AI and robotics use different techniques and tools to implement these concepts, but integrated they create systems that possess self-awareness and an understanding of their environment, enabling them to adapt to the interacting body they are operating.

Currently, the emergence of artificial intelligence is mostly linked to software-driven robotic systems, including mobile robots, unmanned aerial aircraft, and, to a growing extent, semi-autonomous automobiles.

Want to learn more? Tonex offers Robotics and AI Systems Integration Training, a 2-day course that covers key concepts, methodologies, and best practices essential for successful integration, addressing challenges and opportunities in the rapidly evolving field of robotics and AI.

Participants will explore topics such as sensor integration, perception algorithms, motion planning, control systems, human-robot interaction, and ethical considerations in AI and robotics integration.
