Controller Area Network Training, CAN Training

Controller Area Network Training (CAN) covers the concepts behind high-level industrial CAN bus, and protocols embracing CAN along with ISO-11898:2003 as its physical layer. Controller Area Network Training is an introduction to the CAN fundamentals, operating principles, physical layer, data link layer, and the implementation of a basic CAN bus. The electrical layer requirements of a CAN bus are covered along with the importance of the different features of a typical CAN transceiver.

The CAN bus was developed by BOSCH specifying a multi-master, message broadcast system.CAN bus specifies a maximum signaling rate of 1 megabit per second (bps).

The CAN communications protocol is defined by ISO as ISO-11898: 2003 describing how information is passed between CAN nodes and devices on a network and conforms to the Open Systems Interconnection (OSI) model.
