What are Tactical Data Links?
Tactical Data Links and Tactical communications are the heart of command and control (C2). Commanders require analytical capabilities to use tactical data to perceive, predict and perform faster and with better effect. Sharing relevant data with other forces is needed to better perform missions, interoperability across service and national boundaries in joint and coalition environments.
Link 16 is a U.S. and NATO communications system for transmitting broadband, jam-resistant, secure data and voice across a variety of air, sea, and ground-based platforms.
