FAA System Safety Workshop by Tonex

FAA System Safety Workshop is a 2-day course where participants learn the fundamental concepts and principles of system safety as well as learn  to identify hazards and assess risks within aviation systems.

——————–

The FAA’s system safety discipline involves the application of special technical and managerial skills to the systematic, forward-looking identification and control of hazards throughout the life cycle of a project, program, or activity.

FAA System Safety Workshop by TonexThe primary objective of  FAA system safety is to ensure human and environmental safety.

The FAA Safety Team, or FAASTeam, is an educational outreach arm of the FAA. The FAASTeam’s mission is to lower the aviation accident rate in the United States by conveying safety principles and practices through training, outreach and education.

At the same time, the FAASTeam works to establish partnerships and encourage the continual growth of a positive safety culture within the aviation community.

The FAASTeam’s efforts are primarily focused on the general aviation (GA) community. Through compliance regulations, training and upgrading of safety applications, the FAA has ensured system safety throughout the industry.

The FAA has also expanded its system safety coverage to include areas of the aerospace sector.

For example, the FAA’s safety responsibilities now include overseeing the burgeoning commercial space transportation industry. In fact, this year marks the 40th anniversary of the FAA’s Commercial Space Transportation Advisory Committee (COMSTAC).

The growing interest in commercial space is realizing new possibilities for the industry including providing transportation to the International Space Station laboratories for research and space tourism.

Under the FAA’s guidance and licensing, this rapidly developing industry is inspiring scientists, engineers, teachers, and a whole generation, to imagine entirely new possibilities for the future of space.
