5G Mini MBA

5G Training Course

5G technology is important for organizations because it ushers in a new wave of business models.

The faster response times made possible by low latency 5G data streams means businesses can deploy more complex applications—and get back to their customers faster.

Take a look at smart factories. Ford and Mercedes-Benz are using 5G technology to build smarter factories. Ford and Mercedes-Benz and companies such as John Deere rely on intelligent technologies like the Internet of Things (IoT) to power smart factories. Now they are looking at how 5G can drive further innovation in their facilities.

Private 5G networks—networks that don’t share traffic with other cellular networks in the vicinity—play an important role in these factories as they are gaining traction around the world since regulators allocate more spectrum to enterprises.

Analysts believe standalone 5G technology is a game-change for enterprises, specifically those that manufacture goods and require 5G capabilities to implement the transformative applications needed in smart factories, digital transformation efforts and IoT implementations.
But in actuality, 5G technology benefits all organizations because faster speed means more business actions can be carried out in less time.

Low latency also kills buffering, which makes new applications possible for the first time.

5G Advanced, targeted for commercialization in 2024, is expected to strengthen the 5G system foundation with the main aim of improving speed, coverage, mobility and power efficiency.

5G Advanced also will seek to proliferate 5G to virtually all devices, deployments and use cases.

The specific benefits of 5G Advanced are considerable.

5G Advanced will enhance today’s XR experience by expanding the reach of VR and immersive AR applications and the cloud gaming experience.

5G Advanced will offer users a superior XR experience while on the move, requiring high data rates with strictly bounded latency constraints as well as a high degree of application awareness.

This enhanced application awareness helps to move the XR processing load from the device into the network cutting down on the cost, size, and power of user equipment. Older bulkier devices will be replaced by much smaller pocket-sized models that will enable XR use cases everywhere.

5G Advanced will also usher in an era of new types of devices that benefit from the coverage and efficient connectivity of 5G.

Other areas to benefit from 5G architecture in 2023 include:

  • Remote learning and education
  • Personal and professional day-to-day communications
  • Manufacturing/assembly
  • Transportation and traffic control
  • Entertainment, sports and live event streaming
  • Carbon footprint reduction and energy efficiency

The FCC is also taking bold steps to use 5G and other technologies to close the digital divide. For example, they have launched an effort to evaluate utilizing AI to enhance the accuracy of and broadband maps.

The FCC has also distributed $9.2 billion nationally to help close the digital divide across rural America via the Rural Digital Opportunity Fund (RDOF).
